👆One tap to log

In short

Add your puppy, then tap Log pee, Log poo, Log meal or Log nap as the day happens. After about three days TinyDoggo knows her usual times, shows the next break on the Today screen, and can remind you ten minutes before. Everything stays on the phone.

Potty training a puppy is mostly bookkeeping. Every accident on the floor is a break that came earlier than expected, and the fix is knowing when the next one is due. That is the whole idea behind TinyDoggo: a puppy potty training log that costs you a tap, and gives back a schedule.

1. Add your puppy

About a minute

The first time you open the app it asks for your puppy: a name, the breed if you know it, and a birthday. The birthday is the one that matters, because it sets the age the app uses when it talks about what is normal for a puppy her age. A rough date is fine, and you can change any of it later from the Settings tab.

There is no account, no email and no password. Nothing to sign up for, and nothing to remember the next time you open it.

2. Log the first pee

Two seconds, every time

The Today tab leads with Log pee and Log poo, and underneath sits Log meal, Log nap and Custom log. Tap one the moment it happens and the entry is saved with the time. That is the whole job. If she did both, tap one and then the other.

Custom log is the one to reach for when you forgot in the moment: it opens a sheet where you set the time yourself, say whether it happened inside or outside, and add stool condition for the Health tab. Tapping an entry in the day’s list opens the same sheet, so a mistake takes a second to fix.

3. Log meals and naps too

Two more taps a day

Meals and naps are the two moments puppies almost never wait through. Once the app knows breakfast was at 7:10, it can tell you that she usually goes within about twenty minutes of eating, and nudge you before the rug finds out.

This is the step people skip, and it is the one that makes the reminders worth having. Tap Log meal when the bowl goes down and Log nap when she settles.

4. Give it three days

Nothing to do

A pattern needs data. After about three days of honest logging, the app has enough to work out your puppy’s usual times: the early morning break, the after-dinner one, the one at 4:45 nobody had noticed. Until then it says so plainly rather than guessing at you.

Log what actually happens, including the accidents indoors. A potty log with the bad days left out will send you the wrong reminders.

5. Read the Next time out card

A glance

At the top of Today sits the card most people open the app for. It gives the time of the next break, whether it is likely a pee, a poo or both, the typical gap between outings, and what is coming later in the day. When a break is due it says so.

It also tells you how sure it is. A prediction from two weeks of entries is treated differently from one built on a quiet Tuesday, and the card says which it is looking at.

6. Turn on reminders

One toggle

Settings has a reminders switch. With it on, the app schedules a notification about ten minutes before each of her usual times, so you are at the door before she is. Reminders need those first few days of history, so the switch waits until there is a routine worth reminding you about.

They are scheduled by the phone itself, around your dog’s times, rather than a generic timer that fires while she is asleep.

7. Add everyone who walks her

Once

In Settings, add the people in the house. On the Today tab, tap your name before you log, and every entry remembers who took her out. "Has anyone taken her out yet" finally has an answer.

Each phone keeps its own entries, so pick the phone that lives closest to the dog and log on that one.

8. Check Insights once a week

Two minutes on a Sunday

The Insights tab is the progress view: her usual times, how far apart breaks are, how the accident rate is moving, the accident-free streak, and a training level that climbs from Puppy towards House-trained.

House training takes weeks, and week four feels a lot like week two from the inside. This is where the difference shows up.

9. Use the Health tab before the vet

When you need it

Health keeps stool condition, a weight curve, medicines and doses, and your vet’s details. The Share vet report button hands over the last fourteen days as plain text through the normal iPhone share sheet, so you can send it or read it out at the appointment.

Two weeks of real entries beats "she has been a bit off lately", and it is the fastest way to spot a change worth asking about.

What each tab is for

  • Today is the one you live in: the log buttons, the next break, and everything logged so far today.
  • Calendar is any past day, for adding a break you forgot or fixing a time.
  • Insights is the pattern: usual times, gaps, accident rate, streaks and your training level.
  • Health is stool, weight, medicines, your vet’s details and the vet report.
  • Settings is your puppy’s profile, the household, units, reminders and the backup file.

When something looks wrong

The app says it does not know her routine yet

It needs about three days of entries before it will predict anything. Until then it says so instead of guessing. Keep logging and the Next time out card fills in.

Reminders are not arriving

Check Settings → Notifications → TinyDoggo on the iPhone itself, then the reminders switch in the app. Reminders also need those first few days of history, and the app needs to have been opened at least once since the phone last restarted.

I forgot to log a break

Tap Custom log and set the time yourself. For an earlier day, the Calendar tab shows any date, so you can add a missed entry or correct one that went in at the wrong time.

The prediction looks wrong

It follows the entries. A day at the park or a late dinner moves the pattern, and it settles again in a day or two. Long gaps with nothing logged are the usual reason a prediction drifts.

I am getting a new phone

Entries live on the phone, so open Settings and tap Export entries first. That saves a backup file of every entry, meal, nap, weigh-in and your dog’s profile, which you can keep in Files or email to yourself.

Questions people ask first

Is TinyDoggo free?

Yes. There is no subscription, no in-app purchases and no ads.

Does it need an account or internet?

Neither. There is no sign-up, and the app works with no signal, so logging a break in the garden at 2am works the same as anywhere else.

Where are my entries stored?

On your phone. They are not uploaded to a server. The only thing that leaves the device is a vet report you choose to send.

Can two people share one puppy log?

Everyone in the house can be added as a member so entries record who took her out, but each phone keeps its own log. There is no syncing between phones.

How long before it can predict the next break?

About three days of honest logging. Two weeks gives noticeably steadier predictions.

Then read these

The app handles the timing. These cover the training itself.
